Benefits of Facials

We all know that facials make us feel more relaxed and calm. But they have a variety of benefits beyond their soothing aspect. The benefits of a facial include purifying the skin through exfoliation and the extraction of blemishes, as well as soothing and calming dry, irritated skin, and preventing future breakouts. Long term benefits of a facial include increasing cell turnover, protecting the integrity of the skin, and helping to prevent the signs of aging. At the Dermatology Institute & Skin Care Center, we offer a variety of facials, each catering to your specific skin care needs.

Actual Deep Cleansing

You think you’re cleaning your skin at home, but not like our team does. A cleansing facial removes oil buildup, toxins, and dirt, dead skin cells, along with much of the bacteria than seeks to create breakouts. Extraction removes blackheads and whiteheads and prevents future breakouts by unclogging pores. Beyond removing impurities, cleansing facials also open up your skin to receive all of the benefits of the serums and lotions we then apply.

Enhance Skins Elasticity

Facials help slow your skin’s aging process and lessen the appearance of wrinkles. Massaging your facial skin and applying our various anti-aging creams and serums immediately increase blood circulation under the skin, and improves oxygen flow. Beyond feeling great, this enhances your skin’s elasticity and triggers an increase in collagen production. And since collagen provides the skin’s structural framework, more collagen is a good thing.

Skin rejuvenation

Ever wonder why your skin looks renewed after a facial? This is because repeated facials rejuvenate the skin. Exfoliation, extraction, massage, steam, and mask applications make the skin glow. As we age, helping our skin to shed dead cells and buildup helps it remain younger-looking, healthy, and more vibrant.

Targeted skin treatment

When you schedule your first facial with the team at Dermatology Institute & Skin Care Center we will analyze your skin and recommend the type of facial right for your skin. If you’re prone to breakouts, have sun damage, acne scars, rosacea, overly dry skin, or whatever problems are unique to you, we will target them in your facial. Over time, you’ll be amazed at the difference.

Address the stress

We all have stress, and our facials will allow you to relax and release the pressures of the day. Beneath your facial skin is muscles that tend to get tight, just as muscles in your back or other areas respond to stress. Our facials massage your facial muscles. This boosts circulation, stimulates your lymphatic vessels, and detoxifies your skin.

We’ll get to know your skin

Once our team becomes familiar with your unique skincare problems, we can recommend not only the best facial for you but how you can make changes in your home skin care routine that will improve your skin. Our experienced professionals can also alert you to any suspicious skin lesions that merit further attention.

Types of Facials

We offer hydrating facials, acne facial treatments, and calming facials to correspond to the needs of your skin. Hydrating facials target dry skin. Acne facials address breakouts and oil buildup. Calming facials can be effective for sensitive skin and post-treatment skin. Every facial includes facial and neck massage to help alleviate stress.

Skin Treatment Facials

Treating acne, acne scars, and rosacea

Yes! Facials are one of the best treatments for acne, as the exfoliation, extraction, and removal of excess oil help reduce current breakouts and prevent future ones. Some acne scars can also be lightened through facial treatments, yet deeper scarring may require laser treatments. Rosacea can respond to facials, as well, but not in all cases. By renewing the skin, facials help lessen the appearance of acne scarring, although deeper scarring responds better to resurfacing treatments. In general, most skin problems improve with regular facials. We can customize facial treatments to treat multiple skincare concerns based on each individual’s needs.

Everyone deserves the relaxation, stress reduction, and awesomeness that is a facial at Dermatology Institute & Skin Care Center. But how often should you have a facial? For optimal skin health, we recommend our patients have a facial every 4-6 weeks. With that regular schedule, the improvements in your skin continue to build.

During your facial at Dermatology Institute & Skin Care Center, your skin will be cleansed, steamed, exfoliated, and analyzed under a mag lamp. Blemishes will be extracted, then the skin will be massaged and a mask applied. Each facial also includes advice on your home care regimen.
