Vitiligo is an autoimmune skin condition that can affect patients of all ages and skin types. When a patient has vitiligo, their immune system attacks the cells that produce skin color (melanocytes), resulting in chalky white patches. Vitiligo often times causes significant aesthetic concerns that can impact self-confidence.
